With a BSc(Hons) degree in Psychology, I went on to train as a therapist with the wpf and graduated with a BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I have been providing counselling/psychotherapy since 2000.
I am a Registered Member of both the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I also have a Government Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Certificate.
I enjoy working with ALL adults and young persons and also have extensive experience of working with the military and those at their end of life, I have a keen interest in helping people with Anxiety, Bereavement, Stress, Depression, OCD, PTSD and Combat Stress.
I observe the standards set out in the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and I regularly participate in Continuing Professional Development.
Over the years I have combined my work with a range of voluntary work. I am currently a volunteer with Hampshire Children Services working with Children in Care. Prior to this, I was a voluntary therapist for a Not-for-Profit counselling service. During the ‘90s, I was a trainer, supervisor and volunteer for the Samaritans and an Appropriate Adult with Surrey Probation Service. I have also worked in a Day Centre for adults with learning difficulties and had the privilege of working closely with patients and their families in a hospice. During that time I realised what I find most fulfilling is working with people to help them live happier lives, for however long that may be. If you have any questions, please contact me.
